The Steelers running game was again non existent and the defense suffered some injuries. T.J. Watt injured his groin in the second quarter and that hurt the Steelers in the second half. Carli Lloyd had an amazing night with 5 goals in the United States 9–0 rout of Paraguay. The first team that the United States would play after getting the bronze medal in Summer Olympics last month in Tokyo would have a tough evening. It was the United States from start to finish. There were other players who made an impact. Lynn Williams and Tobin Heath would both score goals. Mallory Pugh who is doing well in the NWSL had three assists. Andi Sullivan had two goals. There is another match against Paraguay on Tuesday at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio…

Today, T.J. Watt had a good game when the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Buffalo Bills 23 to 16. He caused a fumble and had two sacks against the Bills. On Thursday, Watt signed for a 4-year extension for $112 million dollars. Watt’s contract will pay him 28 million dollars for the next four years. He will get 80 million dollars guaranteed, and it didn’t affect his performance today.

The Steelers made a smart decision getting Watt his contract extended. They need Watt to help the team get to the Super Bowl. Other players will have to be signed in the off-season. They will worry about that after this season. Now they are getting ready for the Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday afternoon.

The Steelers offense had a tough start in the first half. They could not move the ball against Buffalo’s defense. The offense in the second half got it in gear. Ben Roethlisberger was throwing well and it was 188 yards, plus a touchdown to Dionate Johnson. Najee Harris had a tough game in his NFL debut rushing for 45 yards. The offensive line had a slow start with the running game, and gave up two sacks. Juju Smith Schuster had a good second half with 4 catches for 52 yards.

The defense was great the whole game, with T.J Watt…

I am writing this blog after attending the 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony last Saturday night. Also, I was watching the Tokyo Olympics for the past two weeks. These two events were postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I wanted to be in the sports media, and longing to be where the action is. Instead, it was the most miserable year of my life. I was watching events with little or no fans in the arenas and stadiums. I usually go to a Steelers and Penguins game, but the Penguins game I was supposed…

The year 2020 was testing people's willingness to discuss serious issues like social justice. Mental health was another issue and during the Summer Olympics, one athlete was dealing it in front of the world. Simone Biles was supposed to be winning multiple gold medals in gymnastics. Biles had a tough landing on the vault during practice for the team competition. Biles was dropping out of the team and all-around competitions. The United States would get a silver medal in the team competition. Biles would return for the balance beam and getting a bronze medal.

Biles was dealing with the twisties…
