The United States took on Japan this afternoon in Nashville, in the second match of the SheBelieves Cup. The U.S. had a sluggish start but was able to get things going later in the first half. Alex Morgan would pass the ball to Mallory Swanson in the 45th minute. Swanson would score to give the United States a 1–0 lead at halftime. That would be the only goal in the match as the United States won 1–0.

The United States would play well in the second half. However, Japan would have a few chances, but Casey Murphy would make some great saves. They still have to address the midfielder situation. The United States will play the final match of the SheBelieves Cup against Brazil on Wednesday night in Frisco, Texas.
