I did a blog called Bummer of A Summer in response to a possible postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Thanks to Canada and Australia saying they were not competing and pressure from athletes, the IOC announced the Summer Olympics would be postponed until the summer of 2021. I am not surprised by this announcement because of the pressure placed on the IOC.
Originally they were going to wait until mid-April to make a decision. They could not do that and now have given everyone a chance to reset. That will give Japan more time to deal with the coronavirus. Athletes have mixed emotions about what happened and now can prepare for the Olympics. I look at this a blessing in disguise because they can give everyone a chance to deal with the pandemic. When the date for the Summer Olympics in 2021 is set that means the athletes can start peaking for competition.
