Staying Alive in LA

The United States was in the CONCACAF W Gold Cup Championship quarterfinals against Colombia. There were conversations about this team doing well in this tournament. Alex Morgan would set the tone by drawing a foul and setting up a penalty kick. Lindsey Horan would score in the 13th minute to give the United States a 1–0 lead. Morgan would set up Jenna Nighsowner for a goal in the 22nd minute to increase the lead to 2–0.

Jaedyn Shaw would score off from a Trinity Rodman feed in the 45+2 to make the halftime lead 3–0 for the United States. The second half was scoreless. Alyssa Naeher appeared in her 100th game for the U.S. and had a shutout. The United States bounced back from their loss to Mexico and now play Canada in the semifinals on Wednesday night.
