Super Bowl LV
--
I have looked at the statistics for both Tampa Bay and Kansas City. I see this game as a close one throughout and here is how it looks to me.
Quarterback: Tom Brady has done it all in his 21 years and is in his 10th Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes could be a two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback before turning 26 years old. Brady threw for 40 touchdowns this season and adapted well to Bruce Arians' offense. Mahomes threw for 38 touchdowns and missed the second half of the playoff game against Cleveland with a concussion. He led the Chiefs from trailing a 9–0 deficit in the AFC title game against the Buffalo Bills. Advantage: Even
Running Back: Clyde-Edward Helaire had a great rookie year rushing for 803 yards and 4 touchdowns. Le’veon Bell was signed from the NY Jets and could be a threat catching passes from the backfield. Ronald Jones rushed for 978 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Bucs. Leonard Fournette was signed from Jacksonville and could make some big plays. Advantage: Kansas City
WR/TE: Mike Evans has established himself as a top receiver in the NFL and a go-to guy with Tampa Bay. He had 70 catches and 13 touchdowns. Rob Gronkowski came back from a one-year retirement to have 45 catches and 7 touchdowns. Antonio Brown came in mid-season and is a deep threat. Scotty Miller is an x-factor after scoring a touchdown against Green Bay in the NFC title game. Tyreek Hill is one of the fastest players in the NFL. He is a big-play threat with 87 catches and 15 touchdowns. Mahomes goes to him if they need a big play. Travis Kelce is one of the best tight ends in the NFL with 105 catches and 11 touchdowns. Mecole Hardman is also a big-play threat as well as an outstanding punt returner. Advantage: Kansas City
Defense: Tampa’s defense had come on in the past few weeks. Devin White has 9 sacks and 14 tackles. Shaquil Barrett, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Ndamukong Suh can rush the pass and could disrupt Mahomes' timing. Carlton Davis and Antoine Winfield Jr sure up the Bucs pass defense. Frank Clark and Chris Jones give the Chiefs a great pass rush. Daniel Sorenson led KC with 91 tackles and can make the big play. Tyrann Mathieu had 6 interceptions and has given the Chiefs defense big plays and leadership. Advantage: Even
Special Teams: Ryan Succop had given the Bucs a solid and dependable kicker. Bradley Pinion is a good punter and Jaydon Mickens is solid on punt and kickoff returns. Harrison Butker had made big kicks to help the Chiefs win some games this year including a 58-yard field goal to beat the LA Chargers in overtime in week 2 at Sofi Stadium. Tommy Townsend is a solid punter and can down the ball near the goal line. Mecole Hardman can return a punt for a touchdown. Byron Pringle can make a big return on the kickoff. Advantage: Kansas City
Coaching: Andy Reid has a Hall-Of-Fame coaching career and another Super Bowl title would cinch it. Bruce Arians had a successful coaching tenure in Arizona and won Super Bowls as an assistant for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Advantage: Kansas City
Final Analysis: The oddsmakers made the Chiefs a 3.5 favorite, but a fool would bet against Tom Brady. However, The Kansas City Chiefs are the better team. The Final Score is the Chiefs 34 to 31 and Patrick Mahomes MVP.
