The New Steelers

The old Steelers' way of doing business is gone—the free agent signings of Russell Wilson, Deshan Elliott, Van Jefferson, Dean Lowry, and Patrick Queen. Quez Watkins, Cameron Johnson, Kyle Allen, and Cordarrelle Patterson have fulfilled some needs. Jefferson and Watkins give them veteran receivers. Elliott will help in the secondary. Queen will give them a run-stuffing linebacker, and Johnson will give them a more consistent punter. Patterson will give them running back depth and a kickoff returner. Lowry will give them some depth in the defensive line. Allen will give them a veteran backup quarterback.

The signing of Russell Wilson filled the starting quarterback position. However, getting Justin Fields via trade from the Chicago Bears surprised the league. It cost the Steelers a 2025 draft pick, these moves are not the end. The NFL Draft will add more talent and more moves could happen.
